You are most likely having a somewhat challenging time picking the best exercises to get rid of arm fat. I know because many women are in this same situation.
How did things get so confusing? Well, it seems as though every expert out there has a different opinion as to what arm exercises for women are best.
Now if the gurus have different opinions, how are you supposed to form an opinion? To make matter worse, some women will not even get going because of all the confusion.
But not all hope is lost. You see, I’ve already been there and done that. And I’m ready to share my conclusions.
Thus, here is my critique of triceps dips to get rid of arm fat:
1. Summary: So many trainers recommend this exercise to women wishing to get toned arms. Unfortunately, this is a very dangerous exercise for the shoulder joint.
2. Technical overview: Put your hands on the edge of a bench. Keep both heels of your feet firmly planted into the floor. Slowly lower your body by bending your arms at the elbows. Then bring your body back up.
3. Frequent mistakes: Using momentum to move the body. Not keeping the elbows locked in place. Letting the back arch out of its natural alignment. And not going all the way up and all the way down.
4. Bottom line: Do not do this exercise, ever. It’s simply not worth the risk to your shoulders. Once your shoulder gives out, it’s very hard to get it back to 100%. There are equally effective exercises for toning your arms that do NOT involve such risk.
Injuring your shoulder will set back your mission to get rid of arm fat by many steps. And in some cases it can completely prevent you from reaching said goal. The shoulder joint is very mobile and delicate. So please stay safe!
