When Doctor Oz appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, he had no inkling that he would be creating a furor in the health industry by featuring the advantages of a tiny dark-purple colored grape like fruit named as acai berry. Not only has the health and medical fraternity been dazed by the benefits of the wonder berry, but even common citizens are getting more and more inquisitive about the acai berry.

A native of the Amazonian rainforests these berries are becoming fast sellers due to their good antioxidant content, in addition to vitamins, essential fatty acids and minerals. The acai juice has a mixed taste of chocolate and berries.

The acai boom has started and is not going to slow down in the future. Taking advantage of this fact, many new companies have started their production and processing units. The companies are appointing distributors, giving franchisee options and retailing their products through other means. Each tier is assured of earning a good amount as the craze for acai extract is yet to slow down. This trend is not just on hearsay.

People have really benefited from the acai berries and it is this experience that has made them stand in acai’s favor. Some of the famous brands selling acai are Monavie, Jamba Juice, Sambason Original, Amazon Thunder, Zola Acai, Tropicana Pure Acai Juice and Bombia Acai. Campbell’s V-8 Fusion is the latest entrant in the market.

When the demand outgrows the supply, the prices are bound to escalate. Same is the case with acai berries. As the areas producing these berries are limited in comparison to the demand that has arisen the prices of the acai juice are skyrocketing. A week’s diet of acai costs around $35 – $40, which totals up to $1680 for a year! So we see that the sweet berry is actually not very sweet, in terms of cost. But the benefits far outweigh the costs and hence this is the reason that the companies and industries related with production, processing, selling or distributing the acai berries are having the last laugh.
