A lot of what you may be doing while losing weight could be weakening your bones. And building strong bones doesn’t happen overnight. Even worse, weak bones can lead to one of the most misdiagnosed injuries: hair fractures.
To further complicate things, a lot of what you may be doing could be having a direct impact on your bone health in a bad way. And do you really want to be at risk for a painful fracture?
So here is how to make your bones stronger:
1. Lift weights: Lifting weights is the most effective way to apply stress to your bones and stress is needed so that they become more dense and compact. The key here is to allow ample recovery time between resistance training sessions so that your bones can grow to the fullest.
2. Become super flexible: Doing so will help you fall with the agility of a leopard. And bear in mind that a lot of fractures are a direct result of inflexibility. So becoming more flexible is a great way to prevent bones from fracturing or breaking in the first place.
3. Attain the balance of a tiger: Again, this is more of a preventative measure, but it’s brutally effective. All you have to do here is incorporate some balancing moves into your resistance training routine. Doing this will prevent fractures and bone breaks because a lot of these are a direct result of poor balance.
4. Load up on calcium: But make sure it’s from the right sources. Because if you take calcium from the wrong sources, you could end up with way too much lead in your body. I recommend taking supplements from reputable brands ONLY. And also make sure to eat lots of leafy greens.
5. Don’t overdo the protein: You see, too much protein is absolutely horrible for calcium balance in your body. When you take in too much protein, your body secretes out a lot of calcium. Thus, if you are going to be eating copious amounts of protein, make sure you supplement with calcium.
Trying to lose weight while having weak bones is unnecessary and unhealthy. So make sure you follow this advice sooner rather than later. After all, later usually never comes!
